Parent Pay has arrived at Field Lane Primary

Welcome to our school website. My name is Vanessa Dear and I am Head of School at Field Lane. At Field Lane we work in close partnership with families to ensure that children feel happy, cared for, safe and are ready and keen to learn. We are a busy school community working closely with families, local schools ,the local community and a variety of organisations to provide a high quality and exciting school curriculum for all our children that will enable them to continue to do well in the future.

We provide a structured approach to the teaching of reading, writing and maths whilst also giving children opportunities to use their skills in other areas of school life eg Our Young Entrepreneurs Christmas Craft Fair. This helps to ensure that our children acquire excellent life skills that continue to help them when they move on.

Other curriculum areas are taught through class topics from the International Primary Curriculum. Topics are given the ‘Wow ’factor through termly trips ,theme days and a variety of visitors to enhance learning experinces for children and families. We use a creative approach to teaching, making use of our excellent outdoor space and wider community as well as providing children with opportunities to develop important social skills including teamwork, collaboration and decision making through our approach to the curriculum.

We hope you find our website useful ,it is updated reguarly so please visit again. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to our school contact our school office.

The child will always be at the centre, with personalised learning our starting point, making the challenges of 'Every Child Matters' a reality. Each child will be encouraged to develop a greater understanding of themselves as a learner, what their strengths are, how they can share these with others and their next steps in their continual learning journey. Pupils will be encouraged and inspired to believe in themselves, build dreams and aspirations and strive to achieve these.

Every child will be given the same opportunity to succeed, whatever his or her prior attainment. A key principle of Brighter Futures Academy Trust is that member Academies maintain their own character. However we aim to capture and maximize the collective expertise and skill set for the benefit of all members of the organisation.

Outstanding leadership and management at all levels have ensured high achievement across the school. Middle leaders are highly effective in their roles. The dynamic and flexible leadership team encompasses non-teaching as well as teaching staff, united in the drive towards excellence. Much has been accomplished in a short time, facilitated by the very effective support from the academy chain.
